Biography

Andreas Klasen is an Honorary Research Associate at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, University of Oxford. His research focuses on climate issues, export development finance, climate policy, and economic competitiveness. He advises governments, development banks, export credit agencies, and innovation funds on trade climate policy, export strategies, and financial instruments. Before entering academia, Klasen was a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he led the Economics & Policy division and served as Co-Head of the export credit agency for the Federal Republic of Germany. He has a comprehensive academic background, having studied law, business, and theology at Leibniz University Hannover, Northumbria University, and the University of St Andrews, where he received a doctoral degree in finance.
