Biography

Andreas Nordlander is a Senior Lecturer in Systematic Theology at the University of Gothenburg since 2013. He completed his doctoral dissertation on philosophical theology at Lund University in 2011, which examined anthropology and the intersection of philosophy and Augustinian Christian traditions through the lens of French philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty. As a visiting scholar, he has contributed to the Rachel Carson Centre in Munich and Duke Divinity School. Nordlander currently leads several externally funded research projects focusing on Ecological Ethics in a European context while exploring the role of teleological concepts within biological science. His academic interests encompass fields such as theology and creation, religion and science dialogue, phenomenology, historical theology, and ecological ethics. Nordlander has supervised multiple doctoral students, guiding their studies on various theological and ethical aspects.
