Dr. Andreas Warburton

Biography

Andreas Warburton is a professor in the Department of Physics at McGill University, specializing in Experimental High-Energy Subatomic Particle Physics. His research focuses on gaining a deeper understanding of the fundamental constituents of the universe and the forces governing their interactions. He has been involved in significant roles within various prestigious institutions, serving as a visiting scholar at Harvard and a visiting scientist at University College London. Warburton has led the Canadian Collider Detector group at Fermilab and has been a key contributor to the studies of top quarks and quantum chromodynamics. His prominent involvement in the Large Hadron Collider experiment includes improving detector technologies and ensuring optimal monitoring of collider operations. He has a rich academic background, having completed his Ph.D. and M.Sc. at the University of Toronto and his B.Sc. (Honours, Co-op) at the University of Victoria. Warburton has held several distinguished positions and continues to oversee research projects that push the boundaries of high-energy physics.
