Dr. Andrei Faraon

Biography

Andrei Faraon is the William L. Valentine Professor of Applied Physics at the California Institute of Technology. He holds a B.S. from California Institute of Technology (2004), an M.S. from Stanford University (2009), and a Ph.D. from Stanford University (2009). He has served as a Visiting Associate at Caltech and progressed through the ranks from Assistant Professor to Professor in 2018, and has held the Valentine Professorship since 2023. Faraon's research focuses on solid state quantum optics and nano-photonics, with applications in quantum information processing, on-chip optical signal processing at ultra-low power levels, energy-efficient sensors, and bio-photonics.
