Dr. Andrei Simonov

Biography

Andrei Simonov is a Philip J. Endowed Professor of Finance and the Chairperson of the Department of Finance at Michigan State University. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) in 2000, in addition to a doctorate in Theoretical Physics from Moscow State University. His research focuses on various aspects of finance, including behavioral finance, asset pricing, and financial investments, and he has published extensively in leading finance journals such as the Journal of Finance, Management Science, and Review of Financial Studies. In addition to his academic roles, Simonov is the Scientific Director of the Research Center for Empirical Finance at the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy in Moscow and serves as a Research Associate at the Stockholm International Corporate Governance Institute. His work is frequently presented at major finance conferences and has received multiple accolades, including the EFA/LECG Prize for his paper on Behavioral Finance. Simonov is actively involved in editorial roles for several finance journals and contributes to discussions on economic issues in various media outlets, demonstrating his influence in both academic and public spheres.
