Dr. Andrés Martin

Biography

Andrés S. Martin is the Riva Ariella Ritvo Professor at the Child Study Center and a Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Children’s Psychiatric Inpatient Service at Yale-New Haven Hospital and also serves as the Director of the Standardized Patient Program at the Teaching and Learning Center. Dr. Martin holds a PhD in Medical Education from the University of Groningen, an MPH from the Yale School of Public Health, and an MD from Anahuac University in Mexico City. He has completed fellowships and residency at prestigious institutions including Harvard Medical School. He is dedicated to child and adolescent psychiatry, working closely with young people facing mental and emotional challenges to develop healthy coping strategies. Dr. Martin has a strong commitment to education and mentorship, exemplifying his career-long interest in training future medical professionals. His editorial roles and collaborative efforts with organizations such as the International Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry further underscore his contributions to global child mental health resources.
