Andrés Nicolás Rabinovich is an Assistant Instructional Professor in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago. He earned his Ph.D. in Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Literatures from the University of Kansas in 2023, following an M.A. in 2016 and a B.A. from Queen’s University, Canada, in 2009. His academic journey reflects a deep engagement with language acquisition and the cultural dynamics of Latin America, particularly through the lenses of psychoanalytic theory and Marxism. Rabinovich's teaching emphasizes clear, supportive communication and immersion, catering to a diverse range of Spanish language learners. Since joining UChicago in 2023, he has taught various courses, including those exploring the intersections of literature, culture, and popular media in the Southern Cone and Brazil. His current research includes a book project analyzing the representation of football in relation to cultural and neoliberal influences in Argentine and Brazilian literature from 2003 to 2016, reinforcing his commitment to critical theory and decolonial thought. He also engages with the UChicago community through extracurricular activities, serving as a faculty sponsor for the UChicago Barbell Club.
