Andres Ramos is a Professor in RNA Biology at University College London’s Research Department of Structural and Molecular Biology. He received his PhD from Cambridge University’s Laboratory of Molecular Biology and completed post-doctoral training at the MRC National Institute for Medical Research in London. In 2004, he established his independent research group at NIMR, becoming tenured in December 2009. He transitioned to UCL in October 2013. His research focuses on RNA regulation and the mechanisms by which m6A methylation influences neuronal differentiation and RNA recognition, among other topics. Notably, Ramos has contributed to numerous publications on RNA-binding domains and the complexities of RNA-protein interactions. His work is instrumental in understanding how molecular mechanisms of RNA regulation impact cellular processes and health outcomes.
