Biography

Andrew Anstey obtained his Bachelor of Engineering in Biological Engineering from the University of Guelph in 2015. He then pursued a PhD in Mechanical Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto, completing it in 2022. His doctoral research focused on the creation of polymer-polymer nanocomposites through flow-induced nanostructuring techniques and the crystal nucleation processes in supercooled polymer liquids. In 2023, he joined the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Ottawa. His research primarily investigates the production of sustainable polymer materials using nanostructuring techniques. This includes work on recycled, recyclable, and bio-based polymer nanocomposites, with a strong emphasis on polymer engineering and the physical chemistry of polymers.
