Dr. Andrew Atia

Biography

Andrew N Atia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Duke University and a member of the Duke Cancer Institute. He completed his Integrated Plastic Surgery Residency at Duke University, where he acquired extensive training in various surgical techniques and patient care. Following this, he engaged in a fellowship in Microvascular & Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Atia holds a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Duke University and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Duke's Fuqua School of Business. He has a strong background in surgical innovation and research, contributing to the field through various grants during his training, including the ASTS-Alexion Presidential Student Mentor Grant awarded by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. His research interests are focused on advancing surgical techniques and improving patient outcomes in cancer care, specifically within the context of reconstructive surgery.
