Biography

Andrew studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge and was a member of Trinity College. He completed his PhD in the laboratory of Chris Dobson in the Department of Chemistry, focusing on the biophysical properties of amyloid fibrils. He then moved to Toronto to develop novel NMR techniques for studying protein dynamics under the supervision of Prof Lewis Kay, with support from EMBO and CIHR postdoctoral fellowships. His work was acknowledged with the Harrison-Meldola medal in 2013. In September 2012, Andrew became part of the Oxford Chemistry department as a BBSRC David Phillip's fellow and Fitzjames fellow at Merton College. He is currently a Professor of Physical Theoretical Chemistry and a fellow of Pembroke College. In recognition of his contributions to magnetic resonance, he was awarded the 2016 BRSG-NMRDG NMR prize for excellence in the field.
