Biography

Andrew Berger is an intellectual property litigator who utilizes his breadth of experience and creativity to protect his clients' copyrights and trademarks against infringement. He has successfully resolved multiple copyright infringement litigations on behalf of clients, which have resulted in the collection of millions of dollars in authorized use. Andrew assists clients in monetizing and distributing their intellectual property through licensing, joint ventures, and related transactions, particularly in cases involving cutting-edge internet technologies. With over 20 years of experience, Andrew has served as a mediator for intellectual property cases for the Southern District Mediation Office and in private mediations. He has also successfully litigated complex commercial matters for the Government of Ecuador, Women's Professional Tennis Association, and an investment company based in Europe. As a leader in national intellectual property organizations, he co-founded and completed a two-year term as the inaugural chair of the Intellectual Property Institute. He has served as a trustee and executive committee member for the Copyright Society U.S.A. and co-chair of the Copyright Subcommittee of the ABA's Litigation Section. Andrew has received recognition as an outstanding subcommittee chair and has been named a New York Super Lawyer in IP litigation for four consecutive years. He writes and speaks on intellectual property topics, contributing to groups such as the Copyright Society and American Conference Institute, and maintains an IP blog called IP In Brief.
