Biography

Andrew Chisholm received his PhD in 1989 from Cambridge University, where he studied at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. He then conducted postdoctoral research under H. Robert Horvitz at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, benefiting from a Lucille P. Markey postdoctoral fellowship. He joined the faculty at the University of California Santa Cruz, advancing to the rank of Professor, before transitioning to the University of California San Diego in 2007. From 2016 to 2019, he served as Head of Cellular and Developmental Sciences at the Wellcome Trust in London. In 2019, he was appointed Associate Dean of the Division of Biological Sciences.
