Biography

Dr. Cohen attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania after receiving a doctorate in English literature at Oxford, studying as a Marshall Scholar. He completed residency training in internal medicine and fellowship in geriatrics before joining the faculty at Yale in 2015. His long-term goal is to improve care for vulnerable older patients with dementia, particularly addressing the lack of traditional supports that cannot rely on family members or friends for assistance as they develop increased cognitive and functional impairments. His work has received numerous honors, including the Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders in Aging award from the National Institute on Aging and recognition as Outstanding Junior Investigator of the Year by the American Geriatrics Society. Clinically, Dr. Cohen serves as a primary care physician in the Home-Based Primary Care program at the VA Connecticut.
