Andrew J. Cohen, M.D. is a Lecturer at Yale School of Medicine and Professor Emeritus at Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School. He completed his undergraduate education at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, followed by a medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. His research interests focus on the renin-angiotensin system, diabetic kidney disease, and the impact of health policy on the treatment of kidney failure. In 2002, he was appointed as Chief of Nephrology at Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, where he was actively involved in recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Cohen returned to New England in February 2008 to teach at Brown and currently lectures at Yale School of Medicine.
