Biography

Professor Dorman trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG, qualifying in 1990 before returning to academia. He has previously taught at the University of Birmingham, and completed both master's and doctoral degrees at the Royal Naval College Greenwich. As a co-founder and the Research Director of the King’s Centre for Defence Economics and Management (KCDEM), he has also served as an editor for International Affairs, a journal published by Oxford University Press. Professor Dorman's research focuses on interaction policy strategy, utilizing case studies of British defence security policy and European Security. He has held grants from the ESRC, the British Academy, the Leverhulme Trust, and the Ministry of Defence Army War College. In academia, he teaches courses within the Defence Studies Department at the Defence Academy UK.
