Biography

Andrew J. Duffy, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is a board-certified general surgeon fellowship-trained in minimal access surgery. He currently serves as an Associate Surgical Chief for the Digestive Health Service and Medical Director of the Hernia Center at Yale New Haven Health System. His additional certifications include specialization in Metabolic Bariatric Surgery. With a commitment to surgical education, he has developed simulator programs aimed at enhancing the skills of Yale's surgical residents and fellows. As an interim Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program, he focuses on improving surgery effectiveness while minimizing recovery time and postoperative discomfort. Dr. Duffy has shown extensive experience in treating complications arising from surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
