Biography

Andrew Thomas Dunn is a Visiting Scholar at the School of Art, Carnegie Mellon University. He received his Ph.D. in English from the CUNY Graduate Center, where his research broadly explores the intersections of media, technology, and aesthetics. His dissertation, titled 'Post-Truth Poetics Attitude,' employs an ecological approach to the study of contemporary media. Dunn earned his M.A. in English from CUNY Brooklyn College, his Master of Library and Information Science from Rutgers University, and his B.A. from Bowdoin College. He is the author of 'Inside Swarms: Personalization, Gamification, Networked Public Sphere,' published in the book 'Platforms, Protests, Challenge Networked Democracy' by Palgrave Macmillan in 2020. Dunn has also received the Calder Prize for Interdisciplinary Scholarship, further demonstrating his commitment to impactful research in his field.
