Biography

Andrew D. Gaudet is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin and a courtesy Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at Dell Medical School. He focuses on discovering new mechanisms and therapeutic strategies for improving spinal cord repair. His research interests also include neuropathic pain and metabolic function in relation to anxiety and mood disorders. His postdoctoral training includes work in the labs of Linda Watkins at the University of Colorado Boulder and Phillip Popovich at Ohio State University. He completed his Ph.D. in Zoology and Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia. Gaudet has received recognition for his contributions to neuroscience, including the Top Poster Award at the Neuroscience Research Day at Ohio State University in 2013 and a Graduate Teaching Assistant Teaching Award from the University of British Columbia in 2009.
