Biography

Andrew L. Haydon earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from California State University, Chico, in 2002, and his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of the Pacific in 2012. He began his pharmacy career as a pharmacy clerk and later became a pharmacy technician, inspired by the pharmacists he worked alongside. Haydon served in the military for 13 years, participating in deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Before his current role at the University of the Pacific, he worked in various pharmacy settings, including compounding pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, and managed care. He has a passion for teaching and values the opportunity to influence the next generation of pharmacists. As the Director of Professional Programs, he collaborates with preceptors, regional coordinators, and university leadership to enhance experiential education and ensure PharmD graduates are career-ready. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, biking, and running, and has a particular interest in working on classic cars, especially Volkswagen buses. He also plays the saxophone in several bands.
