Biography

Prior to joining Georgia Institute of Technology, Andrew Hummel spent five years as an Assistant Professor in Nuclear Engineering at Kennesaw State University (KSU). His primary role at KSU involved teaching and developing nuclear engineering courses as part of a minor degree program. Before his tenure at KSU, Hummel worked for half a year as an R&D Nuclear Engineer at Idaho National Laboratory, where his research focused on reactor physics design analysis, particularly core design modeling and simulation. Additionally, he was involved with Hopewell Designs, Inc. assisting with irradiator system designs and shielding analysis. Hummel earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Nuclear Engineering from Oregon State University and a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Tulane University.
