Dr. Andrew Jimenez

Biography

Andrew Jimenez, MD, is an Assistant Professor specializing in Sports Medicine and Hip Preservation at Yale University. He is a dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, having completed his sports medicine fellowship at the University of Connecticut and additional training in hip arthroscopy at the American Hip Institute in Chicago. He was educated at Brown University and the University of Cincinnati, where he was honored with the Peter J. Stern Chief Resident Leadership Award. Dr. Jimenez's research interests revolve around hip arthroscopy outcomes, biomechanics in athletes, and femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). He believes in the importance of nonoperative treatments for hip pain to prevent future surgeries. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he is actively involved in professional organizations and serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Sports Medicine. In his personal time, he enjoys engaging in various sports and spending time with his family.
