Biography

Andrew Lyons received a D. Phil. in Anthropology from St. Catherine's College, Oxford University in 1974. He was a Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at Wilfrid Laurier University, retiring in 2009. Currently, he serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Waterloo. In 2008, he became the Editor-in-Chief of Anthropologica, the journal of the Canadian Anthropological Society. Previously, he was the Co-convenor of the History Anthropology Interest Group, representing the Group Board of the General Anthropology Division of the American Anthropological Association since 2006. His notable publications include 'Sexualities Anthropology: Reader,' co-edited with Harriet Lyons, published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2011, and 'Fifty Key Thinkers in Anthropology,' co-edited with Robert Gordon and Harriet Lyons, released by Routledge in 2010. He has also contributed to the Annual of Histories Anthropology with a chapter entitled 'Missing Ancestors, Missing Narratives,' edited by Regna Darnell and Frederic W. Gleach, published by the University of Nebraska Press in 2007.
