Biography

Andrew Perrotta leads the Sport Science Laboratory at the University of Windsor, which is dedicated to advancing research in sport science and sport medicine with practical applications to enhance health and performance. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, he teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses that integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experiences. His courses are designed to prepare students for professional certifications such as NSCA-CSCS and CSEP-CEP, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills for their careers. Dr. Perrotta’s academic background includes a Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine from the University of British Columbia, an M.Kin. in Applied Exercise Physiology from the University of Calgary, and a B.A.Sc. in Kinesiology from the University of Guelph. He is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, a High Performance Specialist, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and holds a National “C” Coaching License from the USA Soccer Federation. His research interests encompass Sport Science and Sport Medicine, with a focus on cardiovascular function, exercise physiology, environmental physiology, and wearable technology. Dr. Perrotta is currently accepting undergraduate and graduate trainees, including MSc and Ph.D. students, in the Applied Sport Science Stream.
