Andrew Power is a Professor of Human Geography at the University of Southampton, having joined the School of Geography and Environmental Science in April 2011. He studied for his PhD at the Department of Geography at Maynooth University in Ireland, and previously worked at the Centre for Disability Law and Policy at the National University of Ireland Galway, as well as the Institute for Health Research at Lancaster University. He served as the Chair of the Geographies of Health and Wellbeing Research Group within the Royal Geographical Society from 2016 to 2020, previously holding the position of Vice-Chair from 2013 to 2016. Additionally, he is a member of the ESRC and the Irish Research Council's Peer Review College and serves on the editorial boards of various journals.
