Biography

Andrew Tallon is an Associate Professor of Urban Geography at the University of the West of England (UWE), with a focus on urban regeneration, urban policy, and gentrification. He completed his BA (Hons) in Geography from Swansea University, followed by a PhD that examined new trends in city center housing development during the late 1990s and early 2000s. After starting his academic career as a Lecturer in Human Geography at Swansea University, he joined UWE in 2003 and has since progressed to Senior Lecturer and then Associate Professor. His research interests include the socio-economic structures influencing inequality and urbanization, and he has contributed to several significant projects funded by the EU, investigating urban territorial cohesion and economic growth. His scholarly contributions extend to editorial work for the International Journal of Urban Regeneration and Renewal and the publication of textbooks in his field. He has received accolades including a Teaching Excellence Award and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
