Andrew Tsourkas is a Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on developing targeted imaging therapeutic agents designed to improve the detection and treatment of cancer. His specific interests include the development of new nanoformulations capable of carrying extremely high payloads of drugs, radiosensitizing agents, and/or contrast agents. He investigates new targeting strategies that maximize specificity and sensitivity, and develops novel bioconjugation techniques that enable highly efficient, site-specific labeling of antibodies to target ligands. This work allows for the rapid production of bispecific antibodies, enhancing therapeutic treatments. Tsourkas holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology/Emory University, and has extensive experience in the fields of molecular imaging, protein engineering, and antibody conjugates.
Wharton Doctoral programs cover fields like Finance, Marketing, Management, and Operations, Information and Decisions.
