Biography

Andrew T. Turk, MD, is an academic physician specializing in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, as well as Molecular Genetic Pathology. He completed his medical education at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2008, followed by residency training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Turk furthered his expertise with fellowships in Surgical Pathology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Molecular Genetic Pathology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He joined Columbia University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology in July 2014, where he engages in teaching and clinical practice. His clinical responsibilities are focused on Surgical Pathology and he contributes to the Laboratory of Personalized Genomic Medicine. Dr. Turk's research interests include head and neck pathology, with a specific focus on endocrine pathology, particularly the carcinomas of the salivary gland, thyroid, and upper aerodigestive tract mucosa. He is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the College of American Pathologists and the American Association for Cancer Research.
