Biography

Andrew is a full-time intensive care clinician and researcher at Alfred ICU in Melbourne. He completed his undergraduate medical education at the University of Auckland and underwent ICU training in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Australia. After earning a PhD in antibiotic pharmacokinetics, he worked as a consultant in Queensland for several years. His major academic interests include optimized drug prescribing in critically ill patients, hemodynamic management of severe sepsis, acute kidney injury, renal replacement therapy, and the management of subarachnoid hemorrhage and traumatic brain injury. In addition, Andrew is passionate about critical care education, teaching various courses such as BASIC, ALS, ECMO, and EMST. He also serves as the Vice-Chair of the ANZICS Clinical Trials Group Committee and as the Co-Deputy Director at the Australian New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre.
