Andrew Weightman completed his PhD in 2006, focusing on modeling and controller development for vibration attenuation in smart dynamic structures. His academic journey provided opportunities to apply his research skills and technical knowledge in areas of control, particularly aimed at assisting individuals with cognitive and physical impairments. He has contributed to several multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with healthcare professionals, movement psychologists, and engineers specializing in motor impairments. Andrew has specialised in bridging gaps across disciplines and has held an academic appointment as a lecturer in Motor Control. His research is recognised for its quality by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence, notably being cited as an example of good user engagement and a finalist for the NHS Medipex awards.
