Biography

Andrey Zarur is a Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in Technological Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management. He is the founder and CEO of GreenLight Biosciences, a biotechnology company focused on RNA-based solutions for human, animal, and plant health. Zarur is also a co-founder and chairman of the board at Solid Biosciences, which aims to bring therapies to market for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He has extensive experience in venture capital, having served as managing partner at Kodiak Venture Partners, where he specialized in early-stage life sciences investments. Over the past 15 years, he has significantly contributed to the creation of numerous startups in the healthcare and clean energy sectors. Zarur is a prolific inventor with over 100 patents and has published many peer-reviewed articles. He is recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and is a member of its Global Council on Biotechnology. He holds undergraduate degrees from the National University of Mexico and both an SM and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from MIT.
