Biography

Andrzej Weber is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Alberta and serves as the Director of the Baikal-Hokkaido Archaeology Project. His research interests span various areas within archaeology, including individual life histories, as well as carbon, nitrogen, and strontium isotope analyses. He actively explores themes related to mobility and migrations, diet and subsistence patterns, population size distribution, and mechanisms of cultural transmission. Throughout his career, he has led several significant research projects such as investigating Holocene hunter-gatherers of Cis-Baikal (Siberia) and Holocene archaeology in Northeast Asia. His expertise in these areas contributes to the understanding of historical human behaviors and environmental interactions in prehistoric cultures.
