Biography

Andy Goldberg is a translational researcher dedicated to integrating innovative concepts into medical practice for enhanced health outcomes. His primary research areas include ankle and subtalar joint arthritis as well as regenerative medicine, which encompasses both fundamental scientific studies and engineering practices. He oversees clinical projects ranging from small-scale trials to expansive multicenter trials. Goldberg graduated from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School (Imperial College) in 1994 and completed specialized training in trauma orthopaedics in London. He further honed his expertise through a specialist fellowship in complex foot and ankle disorders in Oxford and various prestigious centers in the United States and Europe. In 2006, he was awarded an MD by the University of London. Since 2009, he has served as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Northampton and also holds an honorary position at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust in Stanmore. In 2018, he transitioned his clinical role to Wellington Hospital in London while continuing his research agenda. Goldberg has played a significant role in procuring over £10 million in research funding, focusing on health informatics and stem cell therapies. He has contributed to multicenter trials comparing ankle replacements with ankle fusions and is involved in supervising PhD candidates. In recognition of his service to medicine, he was appointed an OBE in 2011.
