Dr. Andy Nisbet

Biography

Professor Andy Nisbet is the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at University College London (UCL). He has held significant academic positions, including the Head of the Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering department since September 2019. His editorial roles include serving as the Chief Editor for the British Journal of Radiology and a Senior Associate Editor for the European Journal of Medical Physics and Physica Medica. Prof. Nisbet has an extensive background in clinical radiotherapy physics, having previously worked as the Head of Medical Physics at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. He has contributed to numerous projects in collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory, focusing on advanced radiotherapy techniques and patient safety improvements in cancer treatment. Prof. Nisbet has been an invited speaker at key parliamentary receptions and has worked with various organizations, including the International Atomic Energy Agency. He was honored as an Honorary Professor at the University of Surrey and an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, establishing a strong commitment to the field of medical physics and education.
