Dr. Andy Sellars

Biography

Andy Sellars is a Professor at the University of Southampton and serves as the Director of Strategy at Cornerstone, the UK’s leading silicon photonics hub. He co-chairs the Semiconductor Expert Working Group of the UK Telecom Innovation Network (UKTIN), providing expert evidence to parliamentary inquiries, including the National Security Investment Act and the Telecom Security Act select committee on semiconductor matters. He has also advised the OECD Semiconductor Informal Exchange Network and serves as an advisor to Silicon Catalyst. Andy is the founder of the Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult, securing £54 million in investments. He has represented the Catapult in discussions with the Prime Minister and high-level delegations to countries such as Hong Kong, India, and Taiwan, as well as the White House. Andy holds an Executive MBA from Glasgow University and a research doctorate from Strathclyde University, and he is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
