Biography

Anete Pajuste is a Visiting Professor at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and a Professor of Finance at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. She is a research member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) and a founding board member of the Baltic Family Firm Institute (BFFI). Before joining the Questrom School of Business in January 2023, Anete served as a Visiting Senior Fellow in the Program on Corporate Governance at Harvard Law School. She holds a PhD in Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics (Sweden), awarded in 2004. Anete's recent research focuses on corporate governance, the dynamics of family firms, and the implications of controlling shareholders. She has published articles in various esteemed journals including the Journal of Corporate Finance and the Review of Corporate Finance Studies, covering topics such as the life-cycle effects of dual-class shares, boardroom diversity, and responsible investing. With over two decades of teaching experience, Anete has conducted classes on accounting and finance for undergraduate, MBA, EMBA, and executive programs, utilizing participant-centered learning methods. Her prior professional background includes significant experience in asset management.
