Biography

Ang Liu is an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of New South Wales. He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2012. Liu has experience as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Manager of the Viterbi iPodia Program at USC from 2013 to 2016. He has been a Senior Lecturer at UNSW since 2016 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020. Liu's research interests encompass design thinking, design methodology, intelligent manufacturing, digital twin technology, artificial intelligence, and engineering education. He is recognized as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and has held leadership roles in various scientific committees and conferences. He has received multiple awards for his contributions to student learning and research in his field. Liu also serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing and is involved with the editorial boards of several prestigious journals.
