Biography

Angela Campbell is a Full Professor at McGill University's Faculty of Law, where she also serves as Interim Deputy Provost (Student Life Learning). Her research and teaching focus on family law, health law, criminal law, succession law, and feminist legal studies. Previously, she held roles such as Associate Provost (Equity & Academic Policies) and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies in Law. Campbell has also been a visiting scholar at prestigious institutions like the Australian National University College of Law and Emory University. She earned her degrees, including a B.A. (Hons), B.C.L., and LL.B. from McGill University, and completed her LL.M. at Harvard Law School. Her research is supported by various Canadian legal and academic institutions, and she is currently working on a project aimed at improving access to justice for youth. Additionally, she is known for her book 'Sister Wives, Sex Workers and Surrogates: Outlaws by Choice?'. Campbell has received several awards for her teaching excellence, notably the John W. Durnford Teaching Excellence Award in 2011 and the Graduate Teaching Award from the Graduate Law Students’ Association in 2015.
