Dr. Angela Deane

Biography

Angela Deane is an Assistant Professor and Clinician Educator in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto and an obstetrician, gynaecologist, and minimally invasive surgeon at North York General Hospital. She completed her medical school residency at the University of Calgary, followed by a fellowship in Advanced Gynaecologic Surgery and Health Quality Improvement at North York General Hospital and the University of Toronto. Dr. Deane has invested significant effort into improving patient experience and health system quality, completing certification in Health Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the Telfer School of Business, University of Ottawa. She has emerged as a recognized national expert in Female Genital Cutting, undertaking important work in awareness, care, and management of this population. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery and General Obstetrics, particularly related to patients affected by Female Genital Cutting or mutilation.
