Biography

Before arriving at Laval University, Angela Ferraro was affiliated with various academic institutions across Europe and North America, including Italy, France, Quebec, Switzerland, and Belgium. Her research primarily focuses on modern philosophy, employing a dual historical and conceptual methodological approach. During her doctoral studies, she worked on Nicolas Malebranche and 18th-century French thought. Her postdoctoral projects have considered Franco-German Enlightenment in an interdisciplinary perspective, studying shifts in the metaphysical paradigm and the emergence of psychology. She also explores the history of philosophy and the history of science, particularly the theories of life and living beings in the 17th and 18th centuries. Since 2019, she has developed a research project on conceptions of error during the modern period.
