Biography

Angela Fong is an Assistant Professor in Applied Exercise Science at the University of Michigan's School of Kinesiology. She directs the Exercise & Health Behavior Oncology Laboratory (EHBOL) and holds a core membership in the Cancer Control Population Sciences Program at the Rogel Cancer Center. Dr. Fong earned her PhD in Exercise Sciences from the University of Toronto and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in dissemination and implementation science and health promotion at Queen’s University. Her research focuses on enhancing the long-term quality of life for at-risk cancer survivors by promoting healthy behaviors. She is experienced in designing, implementing, and evaluating physical activity interventions that create sustainable solutions to reduce disparities in survivorship outcomes. A significant aspect of her work involves engaging community members and partners to ensure the research is impactful. Recent projects led by Dr. Fong have included tailored physical activity interventions aimed at promoting strength training in at-risk breast cancer survivors. Her research is funded by esteemed organizations including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Canadian Cancer Society/Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
