Dr. Angela Harris

Biography

Angela Harris is a Reader in Earth Observation at the University of Manchester with a focus on innovative applications of remote sensing to monitor environmental change and vegetation communities. Her background includes advanced degrees in Marine Geography and Environmental Conservation Management, with a PhD from the University of Sheffield. Over her career, she has held various academic positions, including Senior Lecturer and Lecturer at the University of Manchester and the University of Southampton. Her research interests encompass remote sensing, the biophysical properties of plants, and ecosystem health, particularly in climatically sensitive areas like northern peatlands. She is actively involved in supervising PhD students and accepts applications from prospective candidates interested in earth observation and spatial analysis within natural environments. Angela is also engaged in external positions such as Associate Editor for international journals, contributing her expertise to advance research in her field.
