Biography

Angela Kedgley is a Reader in Orthopaedic Biomechanics at the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London. Her research interests focus broadly on the mechanics of the human upper and lower limbs, aiming to develop effective and efficient methods for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with neuromusculoskeletal conditions. She obtained her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario (now Western University) in Canada and later completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada at the Centre for Hip Health and Mobility at the University of British Columbia. After moving to the UK, she was awarded an Imperial College Research Fellowship and subsequently joined the Department of Bioengineering as a Lecturer. Angela is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, as well as a member of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. She also holds an Honorary Membership with the British Society for Surgery of the Hand.
