Biography

Angela Lee is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law. She completed her bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies and earned her Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia. Lee is currently enrolled in a Master of Laws program with a focus on global sustainability and environmental law at the University of Ottawa, where she has been fast-tracked into a PhD program. Prior to her current position, she was a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa, where she co-taught a seminar on food law. During the 2019-2020 academic year, she served as a Schulich Fellow at Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law, teaching courses on contract and animal law. In 2020, she joined the inaugural faculty team at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Lincoln Alexander School of Law and was the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Toronto Metropolitan University Law Review. Lee has received numerous awards including the Ryerson Law Students’ Society Professor of the Year award (2020-2021) and the SSHRC doctoral fellowship (2019-2020). As a first-generation immigrant, she is committed to representation within legal education and aims to create an inclusive environment for students from similar backgrounds.
