Biography

Angela Marie Tunno is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor at Duke University’s Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. Her areas of specialization encompass clinical practice, research, advocacy, policy, and social justice initiatives aimed at addressing the impact of trauma and systemic inequities affecting children, youth, and families. Dr. Tunno's specific research interest lies at the intersection of trauma exposure and high-risk behaviors, particularly focusing on suicidal thoughts and behaviors, as well as substance use among vulnerable populations. She emphasizes collaboration and partnership with youth, families, and adults, underpinned by a commitment to cultural humility in her clinical and research endeavors.
