Dr. Angelica Moran

Biography

Angelica Moran, MD PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Chicago. She specializes in antimicrobial resistance, clinical microbiology, and the microbiome. Dr. Moran completed her MD and PhD in Microbiology from Northwestern University in 2019. She has pursued advanced training in Medical Microbiology through a fellowship at the University of Chicago and NorthShore University HealthSystem, following her Clinical Pathology Residency. Her research interests are reflected in her work published in leading journals, where she investigates topics such as fecal metabolite profiling in liver transplant recipients and the implications of biofire multiplex PCR panel detection for joint infections. Dr. Moran's commitment to advancing knowledge in her field is demonstrated by her participation in multiple research studies and publications in high-impact journals.
