Dr. Angelo Dibello

Biography

Angelo DiBello is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Brown University and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at CUNY Brooklyn College. He earned his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Houston in 2015 and completed postdoctoral training at the Center for Alcohol Addiction Studies at Brown University in 2017. DiBello has published over 50 peer-reviewed publications and has served as both Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on ongoing randomized clinical trials funded by the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). His research focuses on intervention strategies to promote health behavior change, particularly in the context of addictive behaviors and their impact on substance use and romantic relationship processes. DiBello has received substantial funding for his work, including multiple grants aimed at changing drinking behaviors through counter-attitudinal advocacy and enhancing efficacy in brief alcohol interventions for mandated students.
