Angli Xue is a postdoctoral scientist and NHMRC Investigator Fellow at the Powell Lab, Garvan Institute of Medical Research. She completed her PhD in Statistical Genetics at the University of Queensland in 2021, focusing on the utilization of statistical computational methods to dissect the genetic architecture of human complex diseases. Her research includes performing meta-analyses to integrate multi-omics data and identifying associated gene loci and regulatory mechanisms. Angli co-developed GSMR2, a software tool for evaluating causal relationships between modifiable risk factors and complex diseases, and led the largest genetic study of type 2 diabetes, identifying T2D-associated genes and their regulatory mechanisms. Currently, her work emphasizes understanding genetic regulation at the single-cell level, leading the TenK10K multiome project, which aims to curate single-cell profiles from over 50 million cells across 10,000 individuals. Angli is actively involved in the scientific community as an early career reviewer for journals and has received numerous awards for her contributions to genetics and research development.
