Biography

Angus McLure is a research fellow and mathematical modeller specializing in infectious diseases. His current research focuses on modeling transmission and elimination of lymphatic filariasis, as well as the design and analysis of molecular xenomonitoring surveys, which involve catching disease vectors such as mosquitoes to detect the presence of diseases. He has worked on a range of diseases and pathogens including C. difficile, Dengue, Campylobacter, and Salmonella. Additionally, McLure has developed and maintains the R package PoolTestR, which is used for the analysis of molecular xenomonitoring data in applications tested on data pools. His research interests include mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, molecular xenomonitoring, surveillance interventions, endgame elimination campaigns, and source attribution of foodborne pathogens.
