Biography

Angus Nairn is a prominent researcher in the field of Pharmacology, currently serving as the Charles B.G. Murphy Professor at Yale University. Nairn completed his undergraduate training in biochemistry at the University of Edinburgh, followed by a PhD in muscle biochemistry from the University of Birmingham. He conducted postdoctoral research in molecular neuroscience under Professor Paul Greengard, and subsequently joined Yale University in 2001 after being a faculty member at Rockefeller University. Nairn holds a joint appointment in the Department of Pharmacology and co-directs the Yale/National Institute of Drug Abuse Neuroproteomics Center. His research focuses on the discovery and characterization of striatal phosphoproteins that regulate dopamine signaling pathways, employing biochemical and molecular techniques, as well as mouse models to investigate dopamine-regulated pathways in various behavioral contexts.
